Exploring Crafts

Constant reinvention is the very essence of the Parsi Gara and enabling it to flow in new directions has been an ongoing endeavour for us at Ashdeen. We’ve created exciting new hybrids by infusing traditional Indian weaves such as Kanjeevaram and Banarasi with Parsi Gara embroidery and have tastefully combined the Parsi Gara aesthetic with traditional Indian crafts like bandhani and leheriya.

Kanjivaram In Bloom

The Kanjivaram saree is woven from pure mulberry silk thread. Deriving its name from the weaving town of Kanchipuram. The revered craft form becomes the perfect backdrop for the unfolding of intricate Parsi Gara vignettes.

Rangrez

This collection is our ode to the devotion and love that goes into making handmade textiles. Here Mothra resist dyeing from Rajasthan becomes a colourful canvas for Parsi Gara embroidery.

The artisanal collection traverses an intuitive path where handcrafted Bandhani meets Parsi Gara embroidery. Textile traditions flowing into one another – deftly, intuitively, organically – to create newer, richer narratives.

Bombay Talkies

Handcrafted Bandhani dots meet Parsi Gara florals in a sensational sixties style featuring concentric circles, geometric patterns, zigzag lines and bold bright colours.

Pashm

Handwoven Pashmina wool shawls hand-embroidered with nature-inspired motifs from the Parsi Gara lexicon. Warmth, artisanship and tradition coming together to create a harmonious language.
